SLRG 807 and 808

Two classic EMD E8As have made their way up to North Creek recently so let's take a look at them....

Here's SLRG 807 getting her Lackawanna Paint on April 21, 1990 in Dewitt, New York.  This unit, as well as her sister the 808 were property of The Central New York's NRHS.  This engine was originally built for the Pennsylvania Railroad in November of 1952 as E8A, number 5761.  It also did some work  for the MBTA (Boston Public Transit) as Number 4261.

Here is the 808 hooked up to the 807 at Saratoga, October 26th, 2012.  It is rumored that the 808 will be the first to have work done to her.

Not part of the EMD news, but here's a neat shot of SLRG 3005B At Saratoga Springs...

C-1 3005 at Saratoga on the regular passenger train.  We cut away and ran into the yard to wye the car and engines.  The car needed to be turned so it could be put in the engine house in North Creek for painting.

More SNC photos from the fall....

SLRG 518 set up for an extra run to Saratoga on October 5th to turn C-1  3005.  They never ran due to paperwork issues.
